Understanding GoldMine® File Locations



What are GoldMine® System Files?
  • System Files - This is the path location where the GoldMine® program is located (and where the LICENCE.DBF file is located). The default is C:\program files\goldmine\, but this may be different for each installation.

  • GoldMine® Files - This is the location of the GoldMine® files.  This is where the 'CAL.DBF' table is located (for the DBF installation) or where the BDE Alias points to the CAL table.  This could be a path location or it might be a BDE SQL Alias name.

  • Contact Files - This is the location of the GoldMine® Common/Contact files.  This is where the CONTACT1.DBF table is located (for the DBF installation) or where the BDE Alias points to the CONTACT1 table.  This could be a path location or it might be a BDE SQL Alias name.

    Note - Windows XP may have the files located in a folder which a user cannot search, if the user logged in does not have access to folders.  This is a very common issue with XP.
